Deeply connected to the volcanic and mediterranean nature of the our coasts, Thalassa is an ode to the sea, a tribute to its vastness, its beauty, and its power, aiming to capture the essence of the ocean through the ancient photographic technique of cyanotype, reimagined for a contemporary application.
The emotional drive behind this work is my profound concern for the future of the marine ecosystems and the fragility of our land. I increasingly yearn for a deeper connection with nature, and the creation of Thalassa has transformed into a meditative contemplation of our coast.
AS SEEN ON
Crafted entirely from natural Italian linen,Thalassa collection consists of both bespoke pieces and three reproducible styles - Marea (Tide), Corrente (Stream), Onda (Wave) - that recall the movements of the sea and are created from three different immersion gestures.
I am open to collaboration with architecture firms, stylists and art directors for the creation of bespoke projects.

ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE
The pieces of the collection are created in synergy with the sun, wind and water with the cyanotype technique, applied without the use of a negative. The decorative motif is created through careful folding of the fabric or selective immersion in sensitizing solution, exposition to the sun and fixing in water with different immersion gestures.
The creative process behind Thalassa is a journey of experimentation with materials, gestures and formulas, until achieving a reproducible result that still retains an element of unpredictability due to the collaboration with nature.
